Garden farming

Garden farming

The Covid19 crisis has really emphasised how fragile our food system is. More allotments need to be created and there needs to be a major movement to encourage anyone with a garden to grow some food. Volunteers could help people to get started. In addition, local farmers need more support.

We also need more forest gardens locally. We have a good example of a local community forest garden at www.pawforestgarden.co.uk

The ecologoical community farms at Arlington - Aweside Farm & Fanfield Farm - are producing high quality organic food for local consumption on land wholly pwoered by solar energy. They are the model for the kind of farming we need locally.
