Lower agricultural emissions

Lower agricultural emissions

Agriculture accounts for 10-12% of global greenhouse gas emissions. We must find solutions to allow a balance between cutting emissions while providing nutritious food for a rapidly growing population.

Points

The global agricultural supply chain is vast. Much of the emissions produced by the sector simply comes from shuttling livestock and produce around the planet. We should push for agricultural companies to de-globalise and focus on organic, local production of native crops using eco-friendly farming.
