The Tourism Laboratory of the Diputación de Barcelona, through the observation, collection, analysis and transfer of information from the sector, wants to contribute to improving the knowledge and competitiveness of local and regional tourist destinations of the province of Barcelona, as well as tourist agents and others linked to the activity, supporting their decision-making and the design of strategies with the aim of generating more sustainable tourism with greater economic impact.
Its function is to develop lines of information generation, knowledge and transfer by monitoring tourist activity in the Barcelona regions through indicators and reports; also with the preparation of its own technical tourism studies and/or with collaborating entities and finally with the performance of training actions (courses, conferences, tourism workshops and transfers) aimed at both tourism technicians and agents of the private sector.
