We need to be less mobile in the future

We need to be less mobile in the future

Prof. Milos Mladenovic from Aalto University argues that the expectation of the level of freedom of driving wherever and whenever is at the root of societal and environmental destruction. Instead, he advocates for reducing total travel, shifting travel to the collective (buses, trains) and active modes (walking, cycling), and as a last priority, improving the efficiency of the whole mobility system.

Points

Reduced congestion and improved efficiency: Reducing total travel can alleviate traffic congestion and improve the overall efficiency of the transport system.
